Export Finance Australia strengthens ties with Korea Trade Insurance Corporation (K-Sure)

Export Finance Australia and the Korea Trade Insurance Corporation (K-SURE) have today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to strengthen their capacity to work together and undertake joint financings.  

Managing Director and CEO of Export Finance Australia Swati Dave and Chairman and President of K-SURE Inho Lee said the agreement would provide a practical framework for enhanced cooperation between Export Finance Australia and K-SURE in sectors such as critical minerals, low emission technologies and regional infrastructure.  

“K-SURE has a long and established history of successfully collaborating with financiers around the world,” Mr Lee said.

“We have enjoyed a close and valuable relationship with our Australian counterparts over many years. K-SURE is delighted to sign this agreement, which will enable us to strengthen our countries trade links.” 

Under the MOU, Export Finance Australia and K-SURE will undertake a range of cooperative activities such as information sharing, exploring opportunities for joint financing and more regular bilateral meetings.  

“Sectors such as critical minerals are priorities for both Export Finance Australia and K-SURE, and this MOU will enable us to work more closely together on these shared priorities,” Ms Dave said.  

“K-SURE and Export Finance Australia both have strong track records financing infrastructure in our region, including renewable energy. The MOU will help us deliver our shared commitment to support a stronger Indo-Pacific and facilitate closer cooperation on infrastructure projects in other countries.” 

The Export Finance Australia and K-SURE MOU follows the successful visit to Australia last year of His Excellency Moon Jae-in, President of the Republic of Korea.
