Your new role
Location: Sydney
Role Type: Full-time, Permanent
About you
The Quality Assurance Lead is responsible for establishing, maintaining and continuously improving quality assurance frameworks, standards and processes for EFA's technology projects and system changes. The role promotes a consistent, proportionate and risk-based approach to testing and release quality, enabling business, Enterprise Systems and Technology teams to plan, undertake and evidence testing within their areas of accountability.
Working across Data, Digital & AI, Technology, business stakeholders and delivery partners, the role provides practical guidance, reusable artefacts and quality insights rather than performing all testing directly. It supports release readiness, identifies systemic quality issues and helps build EFA's capability to adopt proportionate test automation.
- Develop and maintain EFA's quality assurance framework, standards and testing approach for technology projects and system changes.
- Provide guidance to business and technology teams to support effective test planning, execution, evidence and defect management.
- Review testing progress and outcomes, providing evidence-based advice on quality risks and release readiness.
- Establish and report concise quality measures to identify delivery trends, systemic issues and improvement opportunities.
- Support the appropriate adoption of testing tools and proportionate test automation capability.
- Build effective relationships with stakeholders and delivery partners, promoting shared accountability and continuous improvement in quality practices.
Qualifications & Skills
- At least five years' relevant experience in quality assurance, software testing or technology delivery.
- Demonstrated experience establishing, improving or applying quality assurance and testing frameworks for technology projects and system changes.
- Experience reviewing testing approaches and evidence, identifying quality risks and supporting release readiness.
- Practical knowledge of test strategy, integration testing, user acceptance testing, regression testing, defect management and release quality gates.
- Ability to define meaningful quality measures, interpret trends and translate insights into practical improvements.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, facilitation and influencing skills across business, delivery and technical teams.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop practical guidance for varied audiences.
- Experience in a regulated industry or an organisation with formal risk and governance obligations is desirable.
- Experience introducing or expanding test automation and working with delivery partners or external testing resources is desirable.
- A relevant tertiary qualification or professional certification in quality assurance, software testing, technology or a related discipline is desirable.
Even if you haven’t ticked every box but this role resonates with you, don't rule yourself out just yet, we'd love to hear from you!
