About you
The Senior Manager, Corporate Communications is accountable for the delivery of strategic communications, content development, social media, stakeholder communications and media engagement to strengthen EFA’s reputation, visibility and stakeholder trust.
This role helps shape and protect EFA’s narrative through clear messaging, high-quality content, proactive engagement and consistent positioning across owned, earned and shared channels. Working in close collaboration with communications, marketing, government and business colleagues, this role plays a crucial role in supporting our mission to advance Australia’s national interests in critical minerals, infrastructure, Southeast Asia, defence and strategic reserves, while helping executives and teams communicate clearly, confidently and credibly with priority audiences.
Working in a small, fast-paced team, this is a role for a communications generalist who can move between strategy and delivery, and who is comfortable working across public and private sector issues, complex stakeholder environments and core business communications. It requires strong judgement, excellent writing, calm execution under pressure, and the ability to develop compelling content for a range of channels and audiences. If you are passionate about finding and telling great stories about Australian businesses taking on the world and have the skills to match, please consider applying.
- Strengthen EFA’s strategic communications capability and raise EFA’s profile through proactive, integrated communications activity.
- Develop and deliver strategic communications plans, messaging and content that support EFA’s priorities, government mandates and stakeholder engagement objectives.
- Shape and maintain clear corporate narratives that explain who EFA is, what it does, why it matters and how it supports Australian businesses and national priorities.
- Create, edit and publish high-quality communications products, including articles, case studies, speeches, talking points, media materials, web content, social media content, presentations and stakeholder materials.
- Identify and develop story-led content that demonstrates EFA’s impact and supports customer, stakeholder and reputation outcomes.
- Develop and execute effective media and social media strategies that support EFA and Government priorities.
- Manage media engagement, relationships, issues response and media monitoring, including timely advice on emerging risks and opportunities.
- Provide communications, media and messaging support to executives and spokespeople, including preparation for announcements, interviews, speeches, events and periods of heightened scrutiny.
- Own and manage EFA’s official social media calendar and channels in line with the Communications Policy, ensuring content is timely, accurate, engaging and aligned to brand and messaging priorities.
- Design and deliver organic social media activity to strengthen EFA’s brand, positioning and stakeholder engagement.
- Work closely with marketing, government relations and business teams to ensure communications activity is coordinated, audience-focused and aligned with strategic priorities.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to understand business priorities, identify communications opportunities and provide practical advice.
- Monitor media coverage, social media mentions, stakeholder commentary and relevant external trends, providing insights and reporting to inform communications planning.
- Prioritise customer-focused content, lead generation and optimised owned channels to improve engagement and understanding.
- Identify and apply appropriate AI-enabled tools and approaches to enhance productivity, insight generation and communication effectiveness, while ensuring all usage aligns with Export Finance Australia’s policies on data, privacy, security and governance.
- Contribute to building organisational capability in AI by sharing learnings, improving ways of working, and supporting the adoption of new technologies across the Brand, Media and Communications function.
