The Senior Manager, Customer & Corporate Communications leads the delivery of Export Finance Australia’s corporate, customer and employee communications to strengthen reputation, enhance engagement and support business outcomes.
 
This highly visible role is responsible for shaping clear, consistent and compelling narratives across all channels, translating complex financial and policy concepts into accessible communications that support awareness, engagement and commercial activity.

The role owns the development and ongoing management of Export Finance Australia’s corporate communications and content strategy, ensuring alignment with broader business and marketing priorities. It plays a key role in connecting strategy with execution, delivering high-quality communications and content that support campaigns, customer engagement and deal generation.

As part of the Brand, Media and Communications function, the role acts as the owner of Export Finance Australia’s “How We Speak” brand guidelines. It owns tone of voice, writing standards and content conventions across the organisation, ensuring all communications – internal and external – are consistent, high quality and aligned with Export Finance Australia’s brand, positioning and reputation.

The role also provides strategic oversight of employee communications, supporting a cohesive, centralised approach that drives alignment, engagement and understanding across the organisation.

About you

  • Leads the delivery of customer and corporate communications and content to raise external profile and internal engagement.
  • Leads the production and delivery of major corporate publications and materials, including the Annual Report, organisational strategy communications materials and other collateral.
  • Supports the development and implementation of Export Finance Australia’s corporate narrative and messaging frameworks, aligned to government priorities and organisational strategy.
  • Develops and delivers high-quality, narrative-led content, including articles, case studies, emails and other assets, tailored to stakeholder and audience needs across multiple channels.
  • Partners across the organisation to identify and deliver compelling, story-led content.
  • Works closely with Media & PR and Digital Marketing to ensure content supports external narratives, media opportunities and digital performance.
  • Identifies and implements AI-enabled approaches to improve communication planning, content development and audience targeting, while maintaining strict adherence to Export Finance Australia’s AI, data and security policies.
  • Collaborates with Brand, Media and Communications to develop and deliver content that supports integrated campaigns, customer engagement and key business initiatives.
  • Oversees video and multimedia content as part of integrated communications campaigns, ensuring alignment with messaging, audience needs and brand standards.
  • Owns governance of content standards, including tone of voice and writing style, ensuring consistency across all communications.
  • Ensures content accuracy, quality and alignment through effective review and proofing processes.
  • Manages external agencies and creative partners to deliver high-quality, on-brand communications outputs.
  • Provides strategic oversight of employee communications, ensuring alignment with corporate narrative and organisational priorities.
  • Guides internal communications delivery in partnership with the Assistant Manager, supporting leadership communications and key internal messaging as required.

Experience, Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in B2B marketing communications gained in banking or finance industry.
  • Degree qualified in communications or a related business field.
  • Excellent written communication skills across a broad range of materials and channels.
  • Experience producing long-form corporate content through project management to drafting and proofing (e.g. long-form reports).
  • Ability to write in the brand style and to adapt writing style to suit a variety of audiences.
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
  • Working knowledge of AI tools for content management is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of marketing automation systems – Marketo preferred.
  • An understanding of economics and financial services, with the ability to translate concepts into all forms of communication, desirable
